As you might have seen on our social channels, at the end of April we participated in the Heart Walk for the American Heart Association! It was so much fun and we wanted to give you a quick recap.
But first, a little about the Heart Walk. The Heart Walk is put on by the American Heart Association, in an effort to raise money and awareness for heart disease and stroke. It promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in an environment that's fun and rewarding for everyone who participates. It’s the perfect place to show your support of the AHA or honor a loved one that has experienced a heart-related illness. Needless to say, we jumped at the opportunity to participate—April 25 couldn’t come fast enough!
It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday morning (though some of us are not exactly morning people, cough Greg and Nelson cough). We rounded up the troops and headed down to the Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester. Our team consisted of 10 participants: 6 employees, 2 spouses and 2 children who absolutely rocked it along the Genesee Riverway Trail. What a way to enjoy good company and the outdoors.
In the end, we wound up raising a total of $925! Thanks so much to our friends, family and team for contributing to such a great cause. We can’t wait 'til next year!
